American Chopper

Like the rest of lazy, couch potato America, I’m addicted to watching the dysfunctional family that is the Teutels. But, this Lincoln pickup truck bike episode is driving me nuts. They keep saying that this Lincoln Mark LT is the first pickup from Lincoln. I guess Lincoln really wants to forget about the overpriced bomb that was the Blackwood.

Hanging drywall

Thanks to my father-in-law loaning us a drywall jack and a screw gun, Dad and I made some progress on finishing his garage. We spent most of Saturday and got just less than half the sheets on the ceiling, another day and we should be done.
We aren’t fast, but at least it’s getting done.

Fiero parts anyone?

Why are some people drawn to the strangest cars? This guy seems to have a decent business keeping Pontiac Fiero owners happy. And if you’ve driven through Paxton, IL recently, you’ve probably seen a good chunk of his collection.

And, I can’t help but be overjoyed when I’m driving down the interstate and I see someone pulled over by a cop less than 10 miles after they blew by me going at least 30 over the limit. Hope they got the brakes on before he got the radar gun on them, or that ticket is really going to hurt.

Puzzles and Deals

Every year for Christmas gifts from Alisha’s grandparents we get a puzzle or two. For some reason, they never seem to be easy ones. This year was no different. I didn’t get a good picture of the first one, but this is probably the best one. Not too tough, but not easy. The second one was much worse. I’m not sure how much time Alisha spent on it, but quite a bit more than I did.
Cropped round puzzle
This weekend I helped Jim pick up a nearly brand new 42U Dell server rack for the school district. We don’t really have a place to put it right now, but it was such a good deal we couldn’t pass it up.

More pictures of puzzles and the rack.

And, when I got back to the house today, the garage door wouldn’t open. I assumed it was frozen down, but it wasn’t. I came inside and the light on the wall switch was blinking continously. It would open using the wall switch, but not the remote or the HomeLink transmitter in my truck. I don’t think we have a manual for it anywhere, so I went searching the web. I found a discussion area talking about Craftsman door openers with someone else describing the exact same symptoms. The reply was to press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds, the constant blink means the opener is in lock mode. I never even knew what the lock button was for. I guess you learn something every day.

Grandma Max

I don’t know what else to put up here, so the obituary will have to do for now.
